Viele von Ihnen werden sich jetzt fragen Bergbau in Zschopau, gab es den überhaupt ???.
Ja den gab es, und Zschopau ist seit 1493 eine Bergstadt. Natürlich war der Bergbau nicht so umfangreich wie in den großen Bergstädten, Freiberg, Marienberg, Annaberg. Aber dennoch kann die Stadt Zschopau über eine Jahrhundert alte Bergbaugeschichte zurückblicken. Der Bergbau in Zschopau ist seit 1390 nachgewiesen, und ist somit älter als der Marienberger Bergbau, der erst 1519 begann. Unser Verein hat sich zur Aufgabe gemacht die wohl größte und bekannteste Bergbauanlage die Heilige Dreifaltigkeit Fundgrube wieder aufzuwältigen, und für den interessierten Besucher befahrbar zu machen. Des weiteren betreibt der Verein ein mittelalterliches Besucherbergwerk, um jeden die schwere Arbeit der Bergleute näherzubringen. Wir würden uns freuen Sie bei uns im Besucherbergwerk einmal begrüßen zu dürfen.
